Not sure if this will help but I couldn't play this game to start with due to uPlay crashing and fixed it by doing the following: -Install game through Steam. -Uninstall uPlay. -Delete Ubisoft folder manually in windows explorer. -Restart PC. -Download and install latest uPlay launcher from Ubisoft website.
