The back looks like it got squished between two fat people. The E90 M3 is the exception as it got an E92 style front end. E92 - LCI has a nicer rear, pre-facelift has better wing-mirrors. Front end not a lot in it, LCI has the better lights. Overall not a massive change between the two. Front Fogs. Bulb: H3 12V 55W. At the front, two types of foglight were fitted to the E30, and are therefore one of the easiest ways of determining the age of the car. E30s up to 1987 (pre-facelift) will have square foglights, while later vehicles have larger units with one rounded corner.

BMW gave the E39 M5 a mid-cycle refresh for the 2001 model year that included a host of minor changes, mostly cosmetic. expect to hand over $2000-3000 more than you would for a pre-facelift
Those with TV & Nav will have the widescreen after 2002, this did not change at the same time as the exterior (2003.5) but in 2002 when widescreen became the only offered screensize (as an option). 2011 BMW E92 M3 [0.00] 2015 BMW F80 M3 [0.00] 2012 BMW 335i xDrive [9.78] Here's a good comparison. Headlights: e92 LCI has the "eyebrows." It also has the BMW factory halos that are white. Side mirrors: Pre-LCI has the long ones. LCI have the dumbo ears (started in 2010 not 2011). Body is a little different (hood, bumper, etc.)
BMW E30: the big aluminum bumpers werent terrible, but the later plastic ones really tidy up the front end. BMW E39: Front end was kinda soft looking, the facelift sharpened the whole look up. New Edge Mustang: Fixed the melted soap bar looking front end and touched up the tail as well.
